Our goal has always been to keep are patient safe and healthy. So, to protect our patients we have made the following enhancements to our already deep sanitization and office safety measures.
For our Patients:
All patients will undergo a COVID-19 pre-screening call prior to their appointment. Patients are required to wait in their vehicle until the treatment room is ready, an assistant will escort the patient from the parking lot into the office. Upon entering the office, patients are required to wear a mask to cover their mouth and nose and will use hand sanitizer. At this time we will be taking each patients temperature. For the safety of all patients receiving treatment, only the patient with an appointment will come into the office. For individuals who are unable to come in alone, we will allow one care taker to come in with the patient being treated (small children, elderly, special needs, etc.). They must also follow the same protocols as the patient and wear a mask the entire visit.
The office has been set up for proper social distancing for our patients and staff members including: plexiglass shields at front desk, pens will not be re-used for patients; it will be yours to keep, bathroom will be sanitized after every use, handles and hard surfaces will be sanitized multiple times a day, one-way flow to and from the treatment rooms to avoid individuals passing in hallways, medical grade air filtration units have been put in place including ultra violet light for killing bacteria.
We have implemented a new protocol for our Hygienist's and Assistants working directly with the Dr.’s. Those staff members will stay in treatment rooms during the day. A "Floater Assistant" will bring patients into treatment rooms and dismiss patients to increase the ease, flow and sanitation from the clinical areas to the administrative areas. All staff members change their clothes when they enter and before they leave the office. We are laundering clinical clothing in the office daily.
Hudson Family Dental, PC has always followed the latest CDC, MDS and ADA guidelines and beyond for our sterilization procedures and protocols. In addition to the above-mentioned safety measures, we have added the following to provide and even safer environment due to COVID-19: N95 masks, face shields, surgical caps, installed extra-oral evacuation system (Healthy Air Source Capture system-Dental Aerosol Extractor) for each of the treatment rooms significantly reducing any type of aerosol that may be generated during treatment, patients will be asked to rinse with a Povidone Iodine mouth rinse prior starting any procedure as this is known to kill any virus that could be in a patient's mouth, UV sanitation unit to sanitize PPE that can not be autoclaved or disposed of, and ALL staff members are pre-screened prior to coming into the office & temperature taken. Any staff member that is not feeling well will not be coming into the office.
We feel confident that every possible precaution to protect our patient and staff is being taken. As regulations and suggested precautions evolve, we will be implementing as recommended by the CDC, ADA, and MDS.
